It is created from solid beech wood, a lightweight and durable hardwood, perfect for children’s toys. The board is finished in premium food-safe/non-toxic oil and natural waxes.
The knife is suitable for cutting many fruits and vegetables. It is also a great tool for playing with Playdoh and clay and engaging in play pretend.

When you purchase the full board and knife set, you will receive a wooden knife that contains a magnet, and a board that also contains a matching magnet. Together, this allows for the board and knife to be securely stored and even hung up on the wall without them separating. Underneath the knife, there is space for personalisation, where your child’s name can be engraved (up to 15 characters/letters). On the reverse side of the board is the chopping board with a cutting space of 21cm length, 15.5cm wide (measurements vary slightly as they are handmade). Please provide your engraving request in the box provided.
Children’s Safety Knife Only:
If you do not require the personalised board, you can purchase the wooden knife on its own. In this case, there is NO MAGNET and no option for engraving, as personalisation is only offered on the full set. The knife has an approximate length of 9cm and width of 10cm.

How to Care for Your Montessori Chopping Board and Safety Knife:
Never use the dishwasher to clean; hand wash always.
Never submerge in water for long periods of time.
Dry thoroughly after cleaning.
It is recommended that you wipe the board and knife with a damp soapy cloth to clean – they are not varnished (to avoid chemicals), so prolonged contact with water can be damaging.
Regularly reapply oil/wax/Board Butter to the knife and board to maintain protection from moisture.
